14-year-old accuses man of rape she met through MySpace

by Trench on March 21st, 2006

Strongsville student accuses man she met on MySpace.com of rape:

BROADVIEW HEIGHTS - Broadview Heights Detective Donald Polick is investigating a claim that a 14-year-old Strongsville student met 21-year-old Albert Azolino on his MySpace.com page and was lured to a sexual encounter.

The victim told police her first face-to-face meeting with the suspect was at Strongsville High School.

He arrived before class and picked her up. The two drove to her home where she says she was raped.

Azolino has not been charged, but the allegation lead to a search of his Broadview Heights home. Police confiscated a computer, cameras and cell phones and CD’s.

“They don’t stick with one child - they do tend to look for more it seems to be a trend among internet predators,” police say.

Broadview Heights Police says porn stars are among Azolino’s buddy list.

“It’s a little bit disturbing being involved with someone involved in the porn industry and then talking with 14-year-old girls is not a good mix,” police added.

Perhaps just as disturbing, Target 3 found police records dating back to 2003 implicating Azolino in another similar case.

He was found with a knife, beer in the trunk and an underage girl in the car while parked at Beachwood High School.

Broadview Heights Police discovered during this five-month investigation that two more friends of the victims admitted having internet chats with Azolino.

I couldn’t find his MySpace proifile at this time.

Again I ask, parents, do you know who your children are meeting through MySpace?

Seriouly you should all mind your business. AJ isnt a bad guy, and it is unfortunate that a young girl claims to have been raped. I would like to see a rape kit as proof…oh wait there isnt one. AJ may have made a bad choice to talk to this girl…but talking is not a crime.

He is actually not in jail, and he is not in jail because he did not do it. I personally know AJ, and he is not capable of committing a crime like this. Not only is he not capable, but it is also unneccesary because he has no problem meeting women. The girl is lying, and I hope she gets punished for trying to destroy a man’s life because she did not get her way.

I’ve known this girl since 7th grade and right now im currently in high school with some of her closest friends. When everyone heard about this case, they were stunned that this could happen within our town but on the other hand…no one was surprised. There was a point in time where everyone was talking about it. No one really knew though if it was true or not beacause she always lied about what things in general. Half the time you couldn’t believe anything that came out if that girls mouth when it came to guys. BUT the thing is, when she did attend at our school, I’d hear her friends talking about her saying how she would brag about sneeking out or just going out all the time and meeting these olders guys in town, like at the mall. She was known as a “slut” or wannabe slut. Everyone would say that she trys way to hard to get guys and that something like this would happen eventually so no one was really surprised, once again. Personally, I was never good friends with her but I did talk to her when she was in a few classes of mine. This whole thing could’ve been a miss understanding of her not getting her way. She now doesn’t attend our school now for reasons being that she was called a liar, a slut, and just this whole situation happening. I just hope both ends get a fair trial and the the truth comes out in the long run.

I know AJ. I’ve worked with him, we talk constantly and I have even hung out with him a few times. I do not believe he is someone that would do something like this. If there are not hard cold facts that prove him guilty then someone owes him for invading and making a shambles of his life.

Like another person has stated. There is no hard or solid evidence that the girl was actually raped. I also know AJ, and i would have a hard time thinking that he would do such a thing. Whenever i had spent time with AJ, he totally respected me and my wishes.

alright this whole thing kind of disgusts me. . first of all myspace-ther are 14 year old girls on there showing their clevage and dressing like sluts and acting way to old for their age and also lying about their age. i Know Aj, and i know how lil girls are on myspace. . they ask for this. .if the girl was raped she would have had a rape test done therefore evididence. there is no evidence. if someone lies about their age then they should expect guys ‘their age’ to talk to them. .aj would never do this and i think its complete stupidity on this girls part. in an above comment someone said that the girl lies all the time anyways..she probly wanted aj and aj didnt want her and she got pissed and accused rape . .bad way of getting back, but whatever ppl do their own thing..i just know that aj would never do this and i think its obsurd for anyone to accuse him of it

Well there are alot of girls on myspace who lie about their age so thay can talk to guys cause they know if they say their real age they probably wont talk to them.

and since ive read that post about the girl who knows her, and says shes a liar, she probably said he raped her cause he found out her real age.

Good finally the cocky little puke gets his time behind bars, only four years though, messing around with 13 and 14 year olds what a big man.
This “man” has a history being arrested many times, DUI, weapons, and on and on from Richfield to Beachwood to Broadview Heights and more, has car with yellow State issued(DUI) party plates fights at the drop of a hat and his friends defend him on this site.
Please do not fall for this he is a bad bad person.

At some point adults need to be accountable for the choices they make. What if a 21 year old MAN was with your 14 year old daughter? The facts are he is 21 and he picked a child up at a school. He should have known better. He made a conscious decision to drive to that school and pick up that child. And I am not surprised by the posts that say that he has done it before.

I’m always amazed at how people can have such mean things to say about someone when they do not know all the facts:

Let’s clear up some of the facts here, since the last 3 posters obviously don’t know what the facts are.

AJ did not seek out “children.” These 2 girls were friends and lied about their age, portrayed themselves as 18 years old and seniors in high school, lied to their parents, made plans to “sneak out of the house,” made plans to cut school, and lied to the police about their involvement. Turns out, the girls contacted AJ repeatedly. They admitted this. AJ did not seek them out. Once he found out how old they were, he told them he would not continue to see them. They continued to call him on the phone, even after they claimed they were “raped.” AJ made a mistake in judgment by not verifying their ages; but if you saw their pictures, you would never believe they were 13 and 14 years old.

AJ had a problem with alcohol for a few years, as do many people, and made some bad decisions. But I am proud to say that he has kicked that problem. He is active in AA and does not drink at all anymore.

There are many unanswered questions with this case:

Why were 13 and 14-year-olds contacting a 20-year-old man with an adult Myspace profile who had “friends” in the porn industry? What were they thinking?

Where were their parents? How do 13 and 14-year-olds repeatedly sneak out of the house in the middle of the night?

Why were 13 and 14-year-olds even on Myspace when the minimum age was 16 at the time? I guess they must have LIED about their age. Imagine that. Why didn’t their parents know what they were doing on Myspace? Why weren’t the parents charged with neglect? Or maybe they were and we just don’t know it?

Why would someone who was supposedly raped continue to call her alleged rapist multiple times a day, day after day for weeks after they were allegedly raped?

AJ has a lot of supporters because they know him. There was a packed courtroom for his sentencing the other day, and it was packed with supporters for both AJ and Tim.

Don’t believe everything you read and see on TV news. The media distorts the facts to sensationalize their stories. This was not a rape case. It was unlawful sex with a minor, minors who lied about their age. If anyone would bother to read the law, unlawful sex with a minor is a crime, and mistake of age is not a defense.

In response to “anonymous May 13, 2007 at 6:38 pm,” AJ has never been in a “fight” other than in the ring during a competition. And so what if he has “party plates”? And the “weapon” you speak of was a pocket knife in the back seat on the floor of a locked car.

In response to Jacki, he has NOT done it before. Where did you get that idea?

He is not a “bad bad person,” as suggested above. He made a mistake and now has to pay for that mistake. That doesn’t make him a bad person. He has taken responsibility for his actions.

Mistakes were made on both sides of this. The girls can go on with their lives; no one will know about their mistake. AJ and Tim will suffer the consequences for the rest of their lives, as will their families, including their children.

It’s unfortunate for everyone involved. This was a bad situation for both sides.

To you people who make cruel, unwarranted comments as above, all you are doing is showing how ignorant and judgmental you are.
