18-year-old girl harbors 15-year-old runaway

MySpace Arrest: Woman Accused of Harboring Runaway:

You’ve seen all the warnings about MySpace.com - the popular website community. Now a woman is in jail after meeting a young boy on that site. She’s accused of helping him run away.

Seguin Police arrested Ana Lisa Urdialez, 18, for hiding a 15-year-old boy in her house for several days. That runaway’s family says the boy met Urdialez on MySpace.com.

Police say Urdialez met the boy at a dance in Corpus Christi and brought him right back to her house in Seguin.

Investigators in the boy’s hometown of Robstown say his family found MySpace chat records and Urdialez’ contact information in a backpack he left behind. That’s when officers there asked Seguin Police to check Urdialez’ home.

�She said she didn’t know the child. Didn’t know his name. Didn’t know he was a runaway,� Seguin Police Detective Aaron Seidenberger told News 4 WOAI.

Seguin police checked Urdialez’ house three times in two days.

�The female suspect’s mother was at the house. She let us in at that point and the officer went inside and made contact with the female suspect. At that point he found the male runaway hiding in the closet of her bedroom,� explained Seidenberger.

The boy is now back with his family.

It sounds like there’s more to this story than they’re letting on. I’d be curious as to know why the boy ran away. Anyway, my favorite quote from the story is this one…

�Myspace is bad. It’s very bad,� says Sandra Clement, the runaway�s aunt. �You trust your children to make good decisions. They don’t. They really won’t. They are too immature. And they are just too naive.�
