Charges filed in Lenexa threat
Students charged in teacher threats:
This is a follow up to the story about a threat made against a Lenexa Kansas middle school teacher on a Xanga site. It seems they have another incident as well…
Five students from Trailridge Middle School in Lenexa were charged Friday in connection with threats against teachers.
Two 13-year-old girls, both from Shawnee, were each charged with one felony count of criminal threat in Johnson County District Court. They allegedly threatened to kill a teacher over a grade in a Jan. 17 posting on the online journal site www.xanga.com .
Three 14-year-old boys from the school were charged in two separate incidents in which a liquid substance was placed in a teachers coffee pot. One of the incidents occurred Jan. 5, the other Jan. 26.
One of the boys, from Lenexa, faces one felony count of criminal threat and misdemeanors. The two others face misdemeanors.
The felony charge against the 14-year-old boy involved Internet messages threatening a teachers life, coupled with allegations that a substance had been placed in a teachers drink, Morrison said.
Where we dont think it (the substance) was life-threatening, it did make the teacher sick, Morrison said. It (the felony charge) stems from that behavior and the communication talking about murder. When somebody has demonstrated the capacity to do bad things, like putting something in a drink, you have to take it (a threat) more seriously.
Morrison said the other felony charges involved threats to kill a teacher and requests for help.
Hey kids, here’s a tip. Instead of threatening your teachers’ lives and trying to poison them why don’t you just do your schoolwork, graduate and become a useful member of society. There seems to be a shortage of them lately.
Now get off my damn lawn.
