24 arrested in Fort Myers pedophile sting:

Alcohol. Condoms. Duct tape. Rope.
Twenty-four men — including two from Punta Gorda — came to Fort Myers this weekend bringing tools of seduction, coercion and rape. They thought they would meet a child home alone. Instead, they found the police and a national news correspondent lying in wait.
Fort Myers Police Chief Hilton Daniels said the men traveled from around the state to a decoy house in the city, enticed by a national group called Perverted-Justice whose members pose as children under 16 in computer chat rooms in the hopes of catching pedophiles.
In a sting that has been planned since January, they put up profiles on sites popular with teens like America Online, Yahoo, LiveJournal and Xanga and waited for the come-ons to begin. They made contact with about 200 men, some from as far away as Tallahassee, including the 24 who turned up in Fort Myers this weekend. Each is accused of soliciting a child over the Internet. Most also face charges of attempting a lewd and lascivious act against a child.
Arrested were: Peter Ernandez, 30, of Punta Gorda; David W. Schumacher Jr., 21, of Punta Gorda; Thomas Coffen, 31, of Brooksville; Michael Wilusz, 49, of Lakeland; Raul A. Brenes, 23, of Lake Worth; Ellahzar R. Henson, 24, of St. Petersburg; Kenneth Forton, 30, of Wellington; Donald L. Morrison, 48, of North Fort Myers; Miguel L. Lozoya, 22, of Orlando; Elias Bailon, 22, of Miami; Jose E. Falcon, 41, of Miami; Thomas S. Moffitt, 45, of Hollywood; Calvin L. Greer, 31, of Conway, Ark.; Eric M. Thornton, 27, of Jupiter; Daniel Trust, 30, of Riverview; Dennis B. Ramsey, 45, of Ocala; Brian Emmons, 30, of Orlando; Ryan D. McIntosh, 23, of Lehigh Acres; Dallas Lee, 40, of Lehigh Acres; Brian Gosselin, 32, of Fort Myers; Marvin J. Lakhan, 30, of Coconut Creek; Thomas D. Campbell, 61, of Cape Coral; and Clifford E. Wallach, 40, of Naples.
None are listed in Florida’s online database of sex offenders and predators.
Greer and Thornton also are charged with transmitting a harmful image.
Wallach is accused of child neglect in addition to the sex crime. Authorities say he brought his 5-year-old son along to the house where he thought he would be having oral sex with a 14-year-old boy.
According to a Fort Myers Police Department report, Wallach told investigators he thought he was corresponding with a teen boy he met in a male-for-male chat room Sunday. He sent the boy a picture of himself and his son, he said.
Few men arrived empty-handed. Daniels said several brought their laptop computers and alcohol. At least one had male enhancement pills. One had rope and duct tape.
Another arrived at the house and immediately stripped off his clothes.

No, but I do know she isn’t arranging to have sex online, either. My mother brought me up with respect for my privacy, and I intend to do the same. The answers for problems like these aren’t to lockdown teh internets, but to teach your child WTF NOT TO DO.
But this is the kind of thing thats much easier when you have an open and communicative relationship with your child. Now, i know thats asking an *awful* lot from parents these days, when you can simply buy snooping software instead of talking with your kid.
But you know how all of these difficult subjects can be fairly uncomfortable for you to bring up? Its also uncomfortable for your kid, and thats what makes it stand out to them. If you take the bold steps to face these issues head on, they DO come away from it with new/better understandings.
Also, I too would love to see all of their sorry little mugshots. Pity knowing these people have families of their own that would probably wish some mercy upon them, because this is the kind of story that deserves a good old fashioned stoning.

It just goes to show that you never know who is doing this kind of stuff, it’s not always the “dirty old men”. Brian Emmons is a 30-year old Sunday School teacher from Orlando and I dated him briefly in 2002. He is clean-cut, well-mannered and was very religious, always asking me to go to church and refusing to even kiss me because of the “temptation”. I guess he didn’t want to make out with me because I was too old- 23!

So glad to see the Crackdowns!! That should not be surprising that all arrested were not listed as sex offenders and predators. I just hope all local agencies throughout the country continue to conduct these types of sting operations. These slithering snakes are everywhere!!!

I LOVED the show-I want to help-How? I have 2 teenage daughters that are monitored always-computer is in living room, talking and explaining and just being there for them is the key. I am a correctional officer dealing with these FREAKS of NATURE. Where is the closest island? Thats where they should be sent. This DISEASE cannot be changed in the person. Remember JESSICA? She was 9, taken from her home from a neighbor, a prior pedophile. He abused her for days and buried her alive! He got a change of venue-now what? the LIBERALS will set him free to abuse some other child just like MICHAEL JACKSON. Question the people that believe this sting was wrong, entrapment? Where are their heads at?

It wasn’t too long ago that homosexuality was viewed as sexual deviance. . . now it’s accepted and paraded about with “pride” Bestiality is becoming a much more played with idea for comedy, and probably will soon follow. . .that leaves pedophilia to follow. Sorry, but once you get out of the idea that sex is between husband and wife, you start losing sense of what is right or wrong. I hope I’m wrong, but I highly doubt it. . .
Rather than send away on a permanent vacation, I’d suggest getting into their heads first, see what the heck went wrong and why. Maybe we can learn how to combat the predator before the predator is ever birthed.

Ugh, Perverted Justice are a bunch of vigilante scumbags. http://www.corrupted-justice.com/ is pretty interesting reading… harrassing 15 year old kids and their mothers.
Also, the slippery-slope argument that accepting sex outside of marriage leads to acceptance of pedophilia is ridiculous. One is consensual between two adults, the other is forced and non-consensual and no society considers it acceptable.

I know one of the men, Thomas D. Campbell, I was shocked to see him on the news. I use to work with him for over 3 years, scary. This just shows that you can never know or trust anyone around you.
