MySpace Safety Campaign
MySpace Owner To Launch Internet Safety Campaign:
NEW YORK — MySpace.com has gotten a lot of attention in recent months for all the wrong reasons.
So now, the company that owns it is embarking on a major campaign promoting online safety.
News Corporation owns MySpace — as well as the Fox networks and movie studio. The company says it’ll devote millions in television time and online ad space for the public service campaign.
Kiefer Sutherland, who stars in the Fox drama “24,” appears in one ad, urging parents to “use common sense” in keeping kids safe on the Internet. In fact, they’re directed to a site called Common Sense.com, run by a nonprofit group that monitors media.
If Jack Bauer can’t keep you safe on MySpace no one can.
