Two teenagers who fled to Colorado after the weekend slaying of a Grain Valley woman were taken into custody Tuesday near Denver.
Both were being held on warrants for suspicion of homicide, said Lisa Stigall, public information officer for the Wheat Ridge, Colo., Police Department. Denver police previously had identified the teens as Taylor Marquez and Eddie George, both 16.
Grain Valley police have yet to call the teens suspects in the Saturday night stabbing death of Marquez�s mother, 39-year-old Pamela Marquez, the wife of an assistant U.S. attorney in Missouri.
Wheat Ridge police said the two would be returned to Jackson County, but it was not clear how soon that would happen.
A truck driver helped Colorado authorities capture the teens Tuesday near a truck stop in Wheat Ridge, a suburb northwest of Denver. Police across the Midwest had searched for the two since Saturday night before a car belonging to the Marquez family turned up abandoned near the Kansas-Colorado border on Sunday.
