Mom made plea on MySpace before killing kids

by Trench on July 21st, 2006

Ohio Mother Accused Of Setting Fatal Fire Made MySpace Plea:

WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio — A woman accused of setting a fire last week that killed her two children made a plea for help through her Web log in the days before the fire, according to newspaper reports.

Two days before the fire, Heather Silverman posted a message on her page on the popular social site MySpace.com saying she was desperate.

“I need help with prayers for my husband and our children before we are put out of our home with nowhere to live or to put our stuff. I need help to save our kids from that,” she wrote July 11.

Arson investigators in West Carrollton, a Dayton suburb, say an accelerant was used in the blaze, which erupted hours before a hearing in which social workers were to ask a judge for temporary custody of the children.

Silverman, 24, of West Carrollton, has pleaded not guilty to murder and aggravated arson charges.

Police had been investigating her husband, Doron Silverman, since June 6, when Montgomery County Children Services opened a case on a complaint against the family. He has pleaded not guilty to a charge of engaging in sexual conduct with his son.

Silverman’s 4-month-old daughter, Keylee Silverman, died in the July 13 fire and her 4-year-old son, Mikel Silverman, died Saturday at Shriners Hospital in Cincinnati.

I was not able to find the MySpace mentioned in the article.

Thanks to Magz for the article.

Update: Thanks to Angie we now have Heather Silverman’s Myspace.
