Girl agrees to plea in Xanga threat
Teacher threatened: Pupil granted diversion:
This is a follow up on the story about the Xanga school threat in Lenexa, Kansas…
A Trailridge Middle School pupil who was charged in April with threatening in an online posting to kill a teacher will enter a diversion program.
If the girl successfully completes the program, the felony charge of making a criminal threat will be dropped, Assistant District Attorney John Fritz said Monday.
The girl, now 14, and a second girl, who was 13, were accused of threatening in a Jan. 17 posting on Xanga.com to kill a teacher at the Lenexa school over a grade. The second girl’s case is pending.
Under the diversion program, the 14-year-old will be required to perform community service, write an apology to the teacher and undergo drug tests.
