Attorney General Corbett announces arrest of Fayette County man in Internet “child sex sting”:

HARRISBURG - Attorney General Tom Corbett today announced that agents from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit have arrested a Fayette County man as part of an ongoing Internet “child sex sting” operation.

Corbett said the latest arrest by the Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit is part of a continuing, proactive undercover investigation by the Attorney General’s Office to identify and capture Internet child predators before they harm children. He noted that 53 suspected child predators have been captured in Pennsylvania since the creation of the Child Predator Unit in January 2005.

Corbett identified the defendant as Melvin L. Miller Jr., of Mt. Pleasant, Fayette County.

According to the criminal charges, Miller used a Yahoo Internet chat room and instant message program to contact and sexually proposition an undercover agent from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit.

Corbett said that Miller is also charged with sending nude photographs and “web cam” transmissions of himself to the undercover agent, who was using the online identity of a 13-year old girl named “Amanda.”

Corbett said that Miller, using the screen name “melvinmiller2006,” allegedly approached an undercover agent from the Child Predator Unit on June 13, 2006 and quickly began a sexually explicit conversation.

The criminal charges state that during Miller’s initial chat with what he believed was a 13-year old girl, he allegedly used a file-sharing program to transmit a nude photo of male genitalia. Miller also allegedly requested a photo of the child, adding “can u (you) take a nude pic then?”

Corbett said that during a series of online chats with “Amanda” over the next three weeks, Miller allegedly repeated his desire to meet the girl for the purpose of having sex, at one point suggesting that he attempt to date the girl’s mother because “it would be easy for us to see each other.”

According to the criminal charges, Miller also requested a nude picture of one of “Amanda’s” 13-year old friends, adding “tell ur (your) friend I want to have sex with u (you) n her together.”

Corbett said that Miller was apprehended on Thursday, July 6, 2006 in Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland County by agents from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit and Pennsylvania State Troopers.

And thanks to K we have Miller’s MySpace. No friends. No surprise there. He does have that child molester look to him.

Attorney General Corbett announces arrest of Allegheny County and Washington County men in Internet “child sex sting”:

HARRISBURG - Attorney General Tom Corbett today announced that agents from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit have arrested two southwestern Pennsylvania men as part of an ongoing Internet “child sex sting” operation.

Corbett identified the defendants as Donald Lee Unkefer, Jr., 20, of Pittsburgh and Brian Stephen Gostic, 26, of Canonsburg, Washington County.

According to the criminal charges, both Unkefer and Gostic used Yahoo Internet chat rooms to contact and sexually proposition an undercover agent from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit. At the time, the agent was using the undercover online identity of a 13-year old girl.

According to the criminal charges, Unkefer, using the screen name “notsocrazydon,” first made contact with the undercover agent on May 15, 2006 using a Yahoo Internet chat room.

During that initial conversation Corbett said that Unkefer allegedly acknowledged that he believed he was communicating with a child, at one point saying “as far as dating. you’re too young.”

Still, the criminal complaint states that Unkefer proceeded to describe the sex acts he wished to perform with the girl, at one point adding that “my gf (girlfriend) has class until 10, so we’d have some time for whatever.”

Corbett said that on May 16, 2006, Unkefer again approached the undercover agent online, allegedly confirming his intention to meet the girl the following day for the purpose of having sex.

Unkefer was arrested on Wednesday, May 17, 2006, by agents from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit and officers from the White Oak Police Department, when he arrived at a pre-determined meeting place in White Oak, Allegheny County.

At the time of his arrest, Unkefer was driving a vehicle matching a description that he had allegedly provided during an online conversation with the undercover agent.

Following the arrest, Corbett said agents from the Attorney General’s office and officers from the Brentwood Police Department executed a search warrant on Unkefer’s Pittsburgh residence as part of an ongoing investigation by the Child Predator Unit.

Brian Stephen Gostic

Corbett said that Gostic, using the screen name “briangostic,” allegedly approached an undercover agent from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit on April 25, 2006, using a Yahoo Internet chat room. At that time, the agent had assumed the online identity of a 13-year old girl.

According to the criminal charges, Gostic began asking the girl a series of sexual questions and quickly proposed a meeting, adding “I want to take your virginity.”

Corbett said that on May 10, 2006, Gostic again allegedly approached the girl online, asking if she was interested in meeting him for the purpose of having sex. Gostic also allegedly asked if a friend could come along to the meeting and provided his home telephone number along with a cell phone number allegedly belonging to a friend.

Corbett said Gostic and the undercover agent had a brief cell phone conversation on May 11, 2006, in which Gostic allegedly asked the agent to leave him a computer message letting him know what day would be good for a meeting.

On May 16, 2006, Gostic allegedly sent an off-line message asking the agent to send her address information “so I can get to your house so we can have some fun tomorrow, o.k.?”

Corbett said Gostic was arrested on Wed., May 17, 2006, by agents from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Unit and officers from the White Oak Police Department, when he arrived at a pre-determined meeting place in White Oak, Allegheny County.

At the time of his arrest, Gostic was driving a vehicle matching a description that he had allegedly provided during an online conversation with the undercover agent.

Following the arrest, Corbett said agents from the Attorney General’s office and officers from the Canonsburg Police Department executed a search warrant on Gostic’s Canonsburg residence as part of an ongoing investigation by the Child Predator Unit.

Here we have Gostic’s MySpace. It’s so horribly designed it actually made Opera crash. Anyway his girlfriend left him a comment about how much she loves hiim. Even after the charges. Take that for what you will.
