  I regards to “But if he’s so innocent why did he escape?” I couldn’t agree more. Instead of him trying to fight for the truth to come out, if he was innocent, he’s run off and clearly made himself look fully guilty in my eyes! :|

  Reality check kids, our gov’t puts innocent people in jail, prison and death row. Now if your in prison for something you didn’t do, wouldn’t you try to escape? You’d be stupid not to.
  I know nothing about this kids case, just thought you asked a dumb question.

  I wouldn’t try to escape if I was innocent. That just would make me look guilty.

  He escaped because he has no hope! He is an innocent man that knows he will never have a fair trail in this town. I would have done the same thing!Chillicothe’s police department has done this many times in the past, they do not know who did what so they pick the first person with a criminal background that fits the case and puts the crime on them.
  Nichols is back up for election this year, so he thinks getting somebody for the death of Cox’s will secure his spot for Sheriff. Well he wont have my vote!!!

  I’f I got shot today they would put me 6 feet under and if they couldnt find my killer they would probably ask for help and that would be the end of it. How come just because somebody has a badge on there chest means they are more worthy than I am? He is the one who picked his carrer and knows the dangers involved. A cop gets shot and the entire town shuts down untill the find who they think did it.
  Our Justice system sucks to be blunt about it. They only arrested his mother because they thought he would see it and would turn himself in. A couple of things here….1, are we not aloud to have things such as tents, sleepings bags and all of that on our own property. 2. If they were there for Parsons, I’m sure he would have taken them already. Finnaly 3, If it were my son and that is the reasons why the camping stuff was there, I would have done the same thing.

  I hope they never find Parsons to be honest! I do feel for the Cox’s family but I also feel for the Parsons family just as much if not more right now.
  Put yourself in his shoes, how would you like the town including the sheriff, and media to call you a Cop killer when you have no blood on your hands?
  There is no evidence, there is no gun, there is NOTHING. They cannot try this as a Captial Case because there is no murder weapon…….Think about it…….I feel bady for Parsons, he has no hope!

  Fair trial or not, innocent or not…the minute Mr. Parsons ran, he convicted himself.

  Nichols isn’t up for re-election this year.

  Our criminal justice system should be just fine for the likes of most of you…it does seem to support the criminal more than the victim.

  I’m pretty sure the CPD investigated this case by the book. After all, it was one of their own that was murdered and I’m sure they didn’t want to see this thrown out on a technicality. Remember this case hasn’t gone to trial yet. There is a lot that we don’t know about.

  You obviously don’t know anybody in law enforcement. A cop is who they are, not what they do. You should thank god everyday you’ve got somebody willing to risk their own life for you. I hate to hear what your opinions are of those serving in the military.

  It’s one thing to love your child-it’s another thing to help them break the law.

  I’m not a cop killer so I’ll never know what is like to be called one.

  Last time I checked, you don’t need the weapon nor do you need a body to try a capital murder case. But wait, we did have a body and we did have shell casings.

  In my eyes, he’s guilty until he proves he’s innocent.

  Sounds like you’re one of them cop haters. That is until you need help yourself. Never ceases to amaze me how some people pull for a dirtbag like this. I can’t figure it out, piece of crap drug dealers, thieves, and even cop killers. What makes people like you tick. Yeah, it would be nice to have the murder weapon and caught the little S.O.B. read handed, but every case cannot be perfect. That doesn’t mean he should get away with it. Seems like his (Parsons’) record, the video evidence, his running, etc. presents alot of circumstantial evidence. Life isn’t CSI where every little detail fits perfectly in one hour. But, it is a democracy and believe me the Prosecution has to do a whole lot more to get the piece of crap cop killer put away than he has to do to get away with it. Just think, he might have idiots like you on the Jury!!

  If in your eyes, guilty until proven innocent is how you live your life, thank God you are not the judge and jury! You’ve got it backwards, it’s innocent until proven guilty and I see no proof, just alot of allegations..

  I dont think he did it … I dont care what they have on him … They will get what ever they want to pin on someone that they dont like them selves and i think thats what they just did… They know who John is and what he has done in the past and took that and used it to there benafit… Now you can call the other person and my self a cop hater if you want … Personally i dont care for most cops.. I am sorry for the lose that Larrys family went through… But also Johns family is haveing to dill with the lose of there son in a diff way … They are loseing out also…. And the subject on the Sheriff…. That is one that i personally can not stand … He needs out of the office …He has never done anything to help chillicothe in my eyes…I hope Johns never gets found also .. HE DIDNT DO IT!!!!!!!!! If that was my kid i would have done the same thing no matter what the price was…. YOU GO MOMMA!!!!!!!

  They have no evidence, my dad works in law enforcement in ross county and he told me that they pointed fingers at parsons because he was there. this is what they do know, Parsons ran down an alley and they heard shots. Nobody saw Parsons shoot that DARE cop who was off duty and had no business being there. He probably did not even know the guy was a cop if he did shoot. My opinion of Ross County and Chillicothe is that they are opinionated jerks, there is no way that he could get a fair trial. Almost all of my family works in either the fire dept, prisons, or jails, and I do know that they have said that there is no evidence and that if were them in that position they would have ran too. I cannot stand that cow town, that is why I left. Chillicothe is a football loving, ignorant cow town, if you do not go by there low home grown cow and football loving rules you can never be anything…

  i believe he is innocent. the stated when they first were looking for the shooter, they were looking for a light skinned black male. besides him having a record, what else do they have on him for this? nothing,no prints, video,nothing. they and some on here have convicted this man without a trial. some justice system. this town has one prosecuter who can do a capital case,who refuses to represent john,for good reason, but only one in this town? WHY escape? please, if i was being tried for killing a cop in a town like this,id escape too. have you noticed the count on the innocence project? way too many folks are being convicted that are not guilty, they have to prove it beyond a resonable doubt and this cant be done in his case. i agree RUN JOHN RUN!!!

  Just the other night someone kicked out a window of a cop car and ran off with his hands behind him in cuffs……….NOW COME ON!!!!! You know it would have to take a min to get out of a car with your hands cuffed behind you….. WHERE WAS THE COPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  This town is a BIG JOKE…..
  They walk away and leave a REAL KILLER alone and let him get away but yet they have a search for a guy that they know didnt do anything at all ….. I think the sheriff needs fired and we need someone that knows what they are doing in there….
  JOHN IS INOCENT !!!!!!!! People need to know this …. Then he says they have evidence of John doing this killing ….. They cant tell anyone cause this is a ongoing investagation…. COME OFF OF IT !!!!!!!! They have nothing at all on him but what they have planted on him …. And they want to put a mother in jail for haveing camping items on her back porch …. O WELL …
  I would put it out there to if i knew it was for one of my kids…..they are makeing a big thing out of this but if it was just a person that wasnt a cop that got killed do you really think they would be doing all this to get the one that did it ????NO THEY WOULDNT…. It is a cop thing

  It is a cop thing-when someone leaves jail before they’re supposed to the cops look for them. They aren’t looking for him because he’s accused of killing a cop. They are looking for him because he left jail before he was supposed to. They even have a special name for it-they call it ‘escape’. I haven’t heard of any abduction plots or plans to kidnap him from jail so it looks like John is at least guilty of escape.

  I’ve read other comments like yours and they don’t make sense. On one hand you you say that the police are only putting this much effort into a search because John killed a cop. On the other hand you’d have us believe that these same cops who are only looking this hard because he killed a cop framed him of killing a cop just to ‘clear the books’? Come on.

  John wouldn’t have been sitting in jail that long if there was no evidence. Remember civics class? A grand jury heard much of the evidence and voted that there was enough to charge him. Grand Jurors can’t talk about that evidence because the law says grand jury proseedings are secret due to the ongoing investigation. If the cops advertised all the evidence the jury pool might be contaminated. That’s one of the reasons trials have to be moved to other jurisdictions and it’s a big deal.

  Now that John Parsons has been wrongfully accused dozens of people are willing to stand up and say who the “real killer’ is. All those people and not one of them thought enough to say anything before the wrong perosn was arrested. Is that because none of them knew before then? That’s like fifth grade when everyone knows who shot the spit-wod but nobody thinks it’s wrong until the whole class gets punished, then it’s the teacher’s fault.

  Responsibility for the outcome of this, which will probably not be happy for John, will rest on the shoulders of every person who knew something, then and now, and said nothing. Those are usually the people who cry loudest at the funernal.

  FYI-there is a good reason why the Prosecutor won’t stand up for John-the Prosecutor’s job to stand up for the people of the State of Ohio, not the defendant.

  John can hire any lawyer he wants to hire to represent him, however, if he can’t afford an attorney and the Judge appoints one (or more) to represent him, the attorney that the people of the State of Ohio pay to represent him has to be certified (have special training) in death penalty cases.

  It seems if there is a chance you can be put to death for your crime and the State is paying for your attorney they want to make sure that person is qualified to represent you. Some justice system huh?

  I think someone like dateline or ONN should go in and John should be allowed to speak Of course with his lawyer present.I too know people in law enforcement and they see alot of holes in this case as well.Im not saying hes innocent or guilty only god & john know that for sure,but He does deserve to be heard. “COME ON JOHN” Talk To Us

  yep, no doubt he’s innocent, just like the other billion people who have been locked up behind bars. Thank God he’s been caught. Now he can go work on his innocence for the rest of his life where he belongs–in a cage with the other animals.

  I know John and he is innocent and It does not matter what any of those people think about him. He is a good guy and I know this. He was not given a fair chance and now he has to suffer because of some many people who just wanted someone to pin this crime on. I think it stinks and I think an innocent man will be in jail for the rest of his life thanks to the chillicothe police department. They need to find out where the real bullets came from. They recovered no gun so there is no evidence in my book. He needs to be freed from the hell he is in now.
