Trenton Duckett disappeared on or about August 27, 2006. At first it looked like the boy had been abducted by a stranger. But by the time Melinda Duckett killed herself with a firearm last Friday, it was becoming apparent that she wasn�t behaving in a manner one might consider less than suspicious.

Things like this make me wonder why nobody ever thinks of adoption. Certainly she wasn’t in anything one could consider a right state of mind. It would seem terrible to ANY parent to give up their child so that they themselves could date the people they wanted to date.

It seems to me though like “Give the child up for adoption.” would be lower on the list of “terrible things I’d never do” than “murder, maim, and hide child” would.

Then again, maybe I’m just crazy!

I don’t think adoption really was what meant to be, she had been married to the father. I think this is a battle over custody, her story, and that of the father, were contradictory to say the least. Though his visitation with the child stopped (probably because of Melinda) just shortly before the finalization of the divorce, he knew his child.

You’re not crazy, as many women should think about adoption. I’m a firm believer in it, as I would not be here otherwise…

I as an asian man am tired of our women being exploited as whores by europeans and you americans. It looks to me like she got what she had coming, she was a disgrace before the child went missing. She did what was the only honorable thing. My family and friends who were aware of the case are all pleased and happy a women with such little respect for her people would finally do the right thing. Whore.

so sad- i am reposting bulletins off both my pages to try and help find trenton- even though it doesnt look good at all. we have to keep trying.

To this response by Jake Lin, you are a sick SOB! I am also Asian!!! Any culture that is more concerned with thier “reputation” in lieu of “life” makes me sick. I am buddist and your statement appalls me!!! Why dont you and your so called family do something constructive rather than judge and try to find this child who obviously is loved by his father. Yes the mother committed suicide and she is the one who must deal with the after life consquesnces of her actions. But ultimately if she had anything to do with this childs demise may she burn! Put your energy in asking “how can I help find this innocent child” rather then omg she embarrased us!! I am one of those people who have been searching and putting in the “foot” exercise to do so. So get a life and consider your judgemental attitude. Cultures that would recommend death over “truth”. Come on give me a break!! This is a child of innocent and not of his mother or his fathers mistakes. Consider his life over your low life beliefs.

Why Melinda Duckett may have killed her son and then herself:

Church influence.

Trenton interfered with her having a new man after her ex ruined her life.

Joshuah and her used to have big fights that led to her depression.

Her involvement with a charismatic church only worsened her depression when it became clear that the boys there wouldn’t date her cos of Trenton.

So it is God’s fault Melinda killed herself — well actually, the stupid men from the church.

This is a message to good Christian men: when u date single moms, you better include their kids too.

I guess Melinda couldn’t handle the prospect of separating her personal life from her private one.

It’s possible to date and have a family. It’s called being discreet e.g. babysitter for the kid when u wanna have fun with a man. So the moral law against fornication led to her death.

Therefore, Christianity killed Melinda.
