MySpace fueled Annapolis brawl
Principal blames MySpace for fights:
Taunting on a popular teen Web site fueled the spate of violence at Annapolis High last week that put nearly 20 students in handcuffs, the school’s principal said last night.
Donald Lilley told the school Parent-Teacher-Student Organization that insults flowed through social networking site MySpace.com over the summer and fanned tensions that spilled into the school from three public housing projects.
Those tensions turned into violence when students from the Robinwood, Newtowne 20 and Annapolis Gardens neighborhoods returned to class two weeks ago.
“The first time those people had the opportunity to see each other was here on campus,” he said.
Here’s what the real problem is…
African American parents were noticeably absent from last night’s meeting at a school where more than 44 percent of students are black. Mr. Lilley said all of the arrested students were African American.
It illustrates the difficulty some community leaders have with getting parents involved in schools.
It’s not that the parents are black but the fact that they won’t get involved in their own kids’ education.

Not sure. The article never states that and just says all students arrested were black.

That last bit reads a bit confusing for me, but I’m going to a assume that you’re not insinuating that the problem is black people.
Anyway, this is why flaming should be kept to people you’ll never meet kids!

I was trying to make the point that the parents being black was not the problem but the fact that the parents weren’t involved in their kids education.

More than 3/10 black males usually wind up in prison anyway.
Look at the statistics.It doesn’t matter if there were other whites involved,the point of it is,is that whatever crime that blacks commit,whatever crimes mexicans commit,whatever crimes whites commit,they’re all statistics.

i think that the fight was not stared by no myspace if those kids just act like they got some sence then there dumb tales no gotten arrseted and most like thet were fighting oversome thing dumb not were theylive cause all the place are cramp anyway excepy 20 yea boi

no, they were all black. I attend the school, and I saw the fights. I can assure you that.
