Bebo school beating
VIGILANTES BATTER TEEN SENSELESS:
TWO thugs punched and kicked a fellow school pupil unconscious after he was wrongly blamed for internet racist abuse.
Ross Foubister, 18, had to be airlifted to hospital after the savage attack.
It took him four months to fully recover from his injuries.
Yesterday, the two youths who battered him were branded bungling vigilantes.
Sheriff Graeme Napier told the pair: “This was not a spontaneous attack. It was vicious and planned.
“It was the action of vigilantes on the wrong person.
“You identified the wrong person and meted out what you saw as punishment.”
Graham Budge and Amar Khadka, both 17, of Kirkwall, Orkney, were originally charged with attempted murder but admitted reduced charges of serious assault.
They and Ross were pupils at Kirkwall Grammar School at the time of the attack in January, which was sparked by messages left on the Bebo website.
Yesterday, Khadka was put on probation for two years, given the maximum of 240 hours’ community service and ordered to pay �500 compensation.
Budge was given the same probation and community service terms and ordered to pay �1500 compensation.
I wasn’t able to find anything concrete on Budge but I did find Khadka’s Bebo.
