Mass. middle school MySpace threat

by Trench on October 8th, 2006

Longmeadow Student Posts a “Death List”:
A student from Birchland Park Middle School in Massachusetts not only posted a ‘death list’ on his MySpace but he also printed it out and brought it to school. It seems that this was nothing more than a cry for attention because the impression I got from the article is that the student was not being very secretive with the list. The school said the threat was not credible and no weapons were found by police. However some people are reacting the way I fear

Jim Driscoll, Parent and Board of Selectman Chair said, “It concerned me, but I think it’s tending to get a little blown out of proportion. There are so many horrible things happening all over the country. I think we might be overreacting a little bit.”

Then he’ll wonder why a school shooting couldn’t have been stopped.

Homeschoolers are starting to look less and less like freaks, and more like the brains of the outfit as these stories come out.
