Posting his own probation violations on MySpace
Tonight’s winner of the Red Forman Dumbass award goes to one Christopher Leon
MySpace page offered as proof of probation violation:
Christopher Leon’s MySpace page gave him away: One snapshot on the site showed him crouching in front of a group of scantily clad young women, a cigar between his teeth and a beer mug in his hand.
Convicted for his role in a deadly 2005 Plato Township brawl, Leon, 20, of South Elgin was bound by the terms of his probation not to drink or contact the other 16 defendants in the case.
Kane County prosecutors presented evidence in court Wednesday that Leon, using the name “Cold Heat,” posted messages for the other defendants and photographs of himself brandishing bottles of alcohol on MySpace, the online social networking site.
These should be considered aggravating factors to a curfew violation this summer, they argued, and should earn Leon up to 5 years in jail.
But Circuit Judge Grant S. Wegner sentenced Leon to 1 year of intensive probation and 60 days of electronic home monitoring instead. He made it clear in his ruling that another violation would land Leon in prison.
I found his MySpace but it’s since been deleted.
And Red would sentence you to 5 years of his foot in your ass.
