Texas cop suspended, fired, rehired, and suspended again
MySpace Officer Rehired, then ReSuspended:
WATAUGA — A Watauga police officer was briefly rehired today, but then suspended again after a new investigation turned up pornography on his work computer.
Jason Reddick was fired in May after the Watauga City Manager found explicit photos and lewd statements on Reddick’s MySpace page. Some photos on the site showed Reddick in uniform and contained captions about being drunk.
Reddick appealed the decision, and an independent examiner launched another investigation. Part of that probe included new software which allowed investigators to check the information on Reddick’s work computer. That’s when the pornography was discovered.
The independent examiner ruled Reddick was wrongly fired in May, and ordered the city to re-hire him. That’s when the new allegations about the workspace pornography prompted the city to re-suspend Reddick again.
