Teen shot dead while breaking into old man’s dilapidated home
Friends say teen shot in elderly man’s home was a good kid:
Three days ago 17-year-old Tony Parks took three snapshots and posted them on his MySpace page.
Two nights ago Parks broke into a house in Coon Rapids. He was shot to death by the homeowner who thought Parks was a burglar.
Why Parks broke into the Coon Rapids house of a 73-year-old man Monday night is still a mystery.
Family and neighbors think he went to the house with friends and they were going in because they thought the house was abandoned.
“They thought the house was condemned, that nobody was in there. It was a boarded up house just teenagers going into a boarded up house. I’m heartbroken, this should not have happened,” Will said.
Parks had been going to the Anoka-Hennepin alternative high school since the beginning of this month.
His neighbor said, it was because he had a truancy problem at Coon Rapids Senior High School.
On his MySpace webpage Parks talked about smoking and drinking quite often. There are also many references to smoking marijuana.
Here is Parks’ MySpace. I feel sorry for the kid but this is what a life that revolves around getting high can get you.
