2 go to jail for fake MySpace
False Website Leads To Charges:
STORRS — – Two University of Connecticut students have been arrested after one of them set up a fictitious website about a third person on MySpace.com, police said Monday.
Martin H. Gonzalez of Hartford was arrested on a warrant about 6:30 p.m. Sunday charging him with criminal impersonation and second-degree harassment, police said.
Jose Guillermo of Bridgeport, who turns 19 today, was arrested on a warrant about 5:40 p.m. charging him with conspiracy to commit criminal impersonation, plus second-degree harassment, police said.
Police said Guillermo helped Gonzalez hatch the plan to set up the fake website about the third person. Pretending he was the third person, Gonzalez then posted the false information, police said.
Capt. Craig Rich described the third person as a guy the men “didn’t particularly like.”
“The information was untrue, and the person who [they] were pretending to be took offense.”
I couldn’t find a MySpace for Guillermo but I did find one for Gonzalez.
And again it seems like a disproportionate amount of MySpace stories come out of Connecticut.

“Capt. Craig Rich described the third person as a guy the men “didn’t particularly like.”
