Study says most MySpace teens are safe
Study: Teens Safer On MySpace Than Parents Think:
Criminology Professor Dr. Sameer Hinduja at Florida Atlantic University has released a study that says most teens are using MySpace responsibly. I guess you think I’m going to try and refute his findings, but I’m not. The stories I post on my site are kind of like plane crashes. In the news you always here about the planes that crash. You never hear stories about the thousands of planes that land safely every day. The stories that I post only happen to a minority of MySpace’s users. Considering they claim to have 100 million users it isn’t that big of a stretch for a handful of criminals to be using it.
However that doesn’t mean you should be any less diligent when using MySpace. It only takes one person to change you or your kids from being a MySpace user to a statistic.
