New Zealand mother outraged over Bebo porn
Mother outraged pornography sent to daughter’s Bebo site:.
A mother from New Zealand is up in arms after her 12-year-old daughter was sent pornography through her Bebo. If Bebo is anything like MySpace then more than likely it was porn spam. I won’t even get into the fact that Bebo’s minimum age is supposed to be 13. However it seems the mother had a reality check because of it…
Karen told Nine to Noon the finding is a wake up call to all parents, who she says need to monitor their children’s internet use more closely.

If she gets this made about porn spam I can’t even begin to describe the pain she’s going to be in when that girl turns into a teenager. Everyone seems to come out of the woodwork at around that time…friggin scary

She is overreacting. I can understand where she is coming from, Bebo is supposed to be a safe and secure site. It is very safe and that girl is protected from a lot, one email of ‘pornography’ shouldn’t ruin Bebo’s excellent reputation. On Bebo you can choose to make your profile private (this allows only your friends to see your profile), you approve your friends before they become a ‘friend’, you can make photo albums private (for your friends’ eyes only) and if the mother was that worried about what her daughter was accessing over the Internet, and Bebo in particular, perhaps she should have considered not allowing her to become a member in the first place!

It is a parents right to scrutinise, just as it is the right of a teenager to adjust to life.
It is however not the right of a child molester or sexual devient to expose their filth to another. Especially a child. To comment on parenting regarding pornography is not necessary as not every one is open to this sort of behaviour. That is unless of course your parents have sat you down with them and watched pornography together like one big happy family. Knowledge is powerful but too much information is not necessary. We all don’t get to use what we have learnt in our life time. Everything should be at ones own pace and learning ability. Not at another’s ignorance and perversion. It is an intrusion into one’s life and a degradation of anothers personal efforts.
I’d whoop your ass if I knew you sent pornography to my child and tell you to use sense and respect for yourself when you do things. Make sure you wash your hands before you eat and touch other peoples belongings.
