Woman tries to sell stolen shoes back to owner on craigslist
Soleless: Shoe theft victim seeks sneakers’ return:
In California a woman who stole two pairs of expensive basketball sneakers from a shoe collector was arrested after trying to sell the shoes back to the collector on craigslist.
The 26-year-old woman was charged Friday with three misdemeanors, including possession of stolen property and two drug violations, Deputy District Attorney Rob Warren said. She remains in custody on the charges, as well as a probation violation.
The woman’s case stems from a theft this week in which a shoe collector had two pairs of recently purchased size 101/2 blue Nike Air Foamposite One Penny Hardaway retro basketball shoes — which retail for more than $250 a pair — stolen from his doorstep shortly after they were delivered, police said. They were taken Wednesday and offered for sale a day later on Craigslist.org, Detective Bill Veteran said.
This one is too easy but it’s tailor made for you know who.
