11 Toronto students suspended over Facebook
11 Ontario students suspended for ‘cyber-bullying’:
11 students from Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School in the Toronto area have been suspended after after posting disparaging comments about their principal on Facebook.
Bruce Campbell, a spokesman for the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board, told CBC Radio on Monday that the comments posted on Facebook were demeaning to the principal. He also said they were “extremely vulgar and very profane.”
What I find unique about this story is that the students were suspended under the school’s “cyber-bullying” section in the school’s code of conduct. Who knew that principals could be bullied?
Anyway, I wonder if we’ll be hearing about any lawsuits from the students’ parents.
