New York “High School Hotties” on MySpace
Illicit Pictures of Liverpool Students on MySpace Page:
In Liverpool New York someone created a MySpace called “Liverpool High School Hotties” that shows over 120 students, according to the article, wearing practically nothing.
We showed the page to Superintendent Jan Matousek.
“We’ve done a lot in this district to talk about internet safety, and here were quite a few of our high school students that have obviously not heeded any of those warnings,” Matousek said.
Tuesday morning, the district’s director of security will sort through the photos and hopefully identify some of the students. The superintendent says she’ll take several steps to find out who created the site.
“That may be contacting parents, it may be contacting authorities if we find things on there that are totally inappropriate,” she says.
Apparently we have a whole city of parents who have no clue what their kids do on MySpace.

[…] However you try, you won’t be able to avoid the Valentine’s onslaught today. So, might as well sit back and get in the mood with some sexy foods to get your valentine in a spicy mood from Sasha and Gayla at Dating Dames. (Me thinks some kids on MySpace have been getting a little too spicy. Trench at MyCrimeSpace has more on the New York “High School Hotties.”) Don’t forget that not all women are into chocolate, including Kim at BlogFabulous. Folks with nut allergies should also be aware of the Cadbury chocolate recall in the UK - more details at Play Library. […]

It’s not a matter of “parents have no clue what their kids do on MySpace”. I’m a student at this school and I had no knowledge that I was on this site. Several students who have been called down to the main office don’t even have a Myspace. Many of the girls are innocent victims, not wannabe porn-stars.
It was explained to us that only the minority of pictures on this site were the inappropriate ones the media is pitching. The administrators explained that many of the pictures posted were taken from school dances or were just normal pictures with friends that were taken out of context. Anyone who was identified in a picture AT ALL, even if they were in the corner of it, was called down and spoken to.
I am personally outraged. News stations have exploited this situation. It’s now to the point that anyone associated with this page at all is now held in contempt because of the negative connotation. I’m a straight A student at this school and I am very careful online. I never post pictures of myself. I have never had any inappropriate pictures taken of me either. The majority of people on there, including myself, are victims of one stupid idiot. But now, because of all this media attention, people think that any girl on this site is a whore and it’s given a bad image to the school.
