Fake Shawn works MySpace:
Apparently some jackass thought it would be funny to post a fake MySpace of kidnap victim Shawn Hornbeck. For those of you in subterranean mineral dwelling (that’s the PC term for living under a rock) Shawn Hornbeck was the kidnapped, held captive, and sexually assaulted for 4-years by scumbag Michael J Devlin.
“Their are alot of crazys out their wanting to talk to me about what happend,” he wrote to a star-struck girl from Wichita, Kan., who visited his MySpace page on the Internet.
She wrote: “everytime i look at your pic it make me smile you have the most gorgeous smile ive ever seen.”
So it has gone for most of this month. Not even a month after authorities pulled Shawn Hornbeck from the Kirkwood apartment where they say he was held captive for more than four years, someone began exploiting his likeness — and his heartthrob credentials — to talk to girls.
Luckily it’s been pulled. Whoever you were you are only one step above Devlin himself to use such a tragedy for your own interests. Rot in hell.

How horrible and utterly despicable of someone to put a fake Myspace up claiming to be Shawn. I’m disgusted and speechless.

For Shawn and his family, I wish them the best future imaginable. You are a strong person with an amazing family and great faith. We’ve all witnessed a miracle!
That being said, for those who iinteract in cyber space, let this be a red flag and a lesson to us all. There are people out there who aren’t who they claim to be, who are up to no good. Be on guard. We have to train ourselves to regognize the traits of a fake and arm ourselves with good judgement and wisdom. Hopefully we will spare another victim or at least save ourselves.
