MySpace looked at in girl’s disappearance

by Trench on February 26th, 2007

MySpace could be to blame for a missing teen:
13-year-old Justine Jones of St. Joseph, Missouri went missing this past Friday and her family thinks MySpace may have played a role in it.

While police have not issued an amber alert, her family is taking matters into its own hands. Choking back tears, Amber Dorman describes her worst feeling ever.

“It`s every parent`s, auntie?s, grandmother`s fear of this day right here of not knowing where your child is,” Dorman said. “She`s my niece, but she`s more like my daughter.”

Dorman has had custody of her 13-year-old niece, Justine Jones, for most of her life. She said not knowing where she is, is terrifying.

“I got some pictures together and posted some flyers,” Dorman said.

Police believe Justine likely left on her own and will come home once she`s ready. Dorman said that`s just not like Justine.

The last time Dorman saw Justine was at the bus stop a block from her house. She never came home from Robidoux Middle School. Dorman wonders if MySpace might be to blame.

“About two weeks ago, Justine was talking about MySpace with one of her friends and how there`s this guy that was cussing, saying certain obscene things,” Dorman said.

All information that should have been handed to the police.

“That would be fresh information that we have to go see who was it, what it says on MySpace, who was the person that did that,” St. Joseph Police Commander Jim Connors said.

I’m praying for her safe return.
