Washington State theft busted on craigslist and MySpace

by Trench on March 9th, 2007

Two ‘Stupid’ Burglars Spilled a Trail of Online Breadcrumbs:
Alyric is my partner in crime over at Public Enemy: Player 1. He really has the gift for blogging. He sent me a story for MCS and basically wrote it for me in his e-mail.

From Alyric:

Here’s the breakdown:

Two teens break into a house and steal various electronics.

Victim finds Palm Pilot listed on Craigslist, meets with thieves, identifies it as her, confronts them. They run off, but the e-mail address from Craiglist leads Leah to one of their Myspaces.

Police arrest the thieves Tuesday. On Wednesday, one of them makes bail…but he’s back in jail later that day. Why?

Here it is, directly from the article:

“A Kitsap Sheriff’s detective happened to be driving by Packer on West Belfair Valley Road while he was allegedly stashing other stolen items in a wooded area — which happened to be near the entrance to the Bremerton police firing range.

The Sheriff’s Office was conducting training, and the detective happened to be at the firing range that day.”

The suspects are Gregory Duane “Ory” Packer, 18, and Daniel Leo Hollon, also 18. You know what comes next don’t you?

For your obvious criminal prowess you boys win the Red Forman Dumbass Award.

Red would stash his foot near the range of your ass.

Doesn’t anybody have anything better to talk about than two boys who broke into a house and got caught for it? I mean, wasn’t somebody murdered or molested lately. Why does the public feel the need to publicly shame those who are already humiliated?

They should have thought of that before breaking in to someone’s house.

Taisho…Are you kidding. I don’t think these guys are shamed yet but the dumbass aware is a start. They aren’t even in jail yet. They are still at home with mommy and daddy. The guy still gets to use his computer even after he effed himself by using it in the first place. See his current web page. http://www.myspace.com/illuminaugh7y

Big cheers to the victims for pursuing this. The cops probably wouldn’t have even done anything about it except that they had to since it was gaining attention in the public eye. They would rather issue speeding tickets b/c there’s money in that.
