MySpace sues Spam King
MySpace sues ‘Spam King’ over fake profiles:
MySpace has launched a lawsuit of their own. It’s aimed at one of the lowest forms of humanity around. A spammer. MySpace is suing the so-called “Spam King”, Sanford Wallace, alleging he made over 11,000 fake profiles which would direct people to other less reputable sites.
So you mean Jenny won’t chat with me over MSN and doesn’t think I’m hot?
I hope MySpace bankrupts him.

Hmmm… I hate spam as much as anyone else, but I’m not too sure how this violates the TOS of a free site, whereby the website’s owner is “immune” to lawsuits brought forth due to content created by its users.
So Myspace can go after someone because their emails from one of the free profiles is annoying? But they can’t go after child predators? They can sue one, but not the other? Something’s wrong with the priorities here.
Again, if they charged a nominal fee by credit card for each account, they could ban this guy for a clear violation of their TOS. As long as they allow free enrollment, they will have spammers.
