Girl says suspect lured her into life of prostitution:
Again, who says that prostitution is a victimless crime?

A 13-year-old Livermore girl who investigators say was prostituted over a three-month period last summer by a San Leandro man, testified Wednesday that the man drove her to about 40 “dates” and she had sex with 30 men.

The girl also testified that she had sex with the alleged pimp, Brian Earl Boykins, several times.

Boykins, 30, of San Leandro is charged with unlawfully prostituting a child, committing a lewd act on a child and several other sex-related charges.

The victim was 12 at the time of the alleged crimes. She seemed nervous during her testimony Wednesday, holding her face in her hands during the hearing at Alameda County Superior Court in Pleasanton.

She testified she ran away from home in May 2006 and stayed with friends. She met Boykins the following month.

“My sister introduced us,” she told the court. “He asked me how old I was, and I told him 12. He didn’t believe me.”

Two days later they were “romantically involved,” she said.

It was Boykins’ sister’s idea that the girl become a prostitute, the girl said.

“She just asked me, ‘Do you want to do this?’ and pointed to the computer (where a Craigslist.com ad for sex was displayed),” the girl said.

The first time Boykins drove her to a “date,” the girl said she had no idea what was going on and presumed she was meeting a friend of Boykins’ sister. The customer explained it to her and let her leave with $250 without having sex, she said.

The girl told the court she had sex with men “about 30 times.” She went with Boykins voluntarily, even when she knew what would happen, she said.

Around the time she was arrested, she said wanted out of the arrangement. But when she asked Boykins to take her home, he hit her and threw her back in his van.

On Sept. 23, Livermore police conducted a sting using Craigslist ads, arranging a meeting between undercover officers and women offering to have sex for money. The victim was found at one of those meetings.

Officers arrested the girl for prostitution, according to court documents. A few hours later, police spotted Boykins loitering outside of the motel room where she was arrested. A search returned a drug-related arrest warrant. Later, they found the girl’s belongings in Boykins’ van and arrested him.

After the arrest, the girl said she at first tried to protect Boykins by lying to police.

“I liked him, and I was scared of him,” she said. “He hit me in my face more than one time.”

Even if prostitution was legalized there would still be people trying to pimp out girls that weren’t old enough to be legal prostitutes.

Craigslist is still eerily silent about their facilitation of child prostitution.

Craigslist no more “facilitates child prostitution” than you, seeking to demonize paid sex between consenting adults by linking it to “child hookers,” facilitate right-wing morality squad fascism, police corruption, the waste of billions of dollars of taxpayer money, and the ability of real criminals to commit crimes unchecked. Maybe if the law didn’t criminalize honest sex work in order to serve as the private tool of some peoples’ envy, hate, and intolerance by people like you, more people would have respect for the law and the police would have more cooperation from citizens in keeping real crime like kids being forced into sex from happening. But you, Mr. “who says prostitution is a victimless crime” would rather keep seeing stories like this in order to be able to justify your narrow-minded bigotry against sex work in general, wouldn’t you?

child prostitution isnt what people are talking about when they say its a victimless crime…thats like saying we need gun control so kids dont buy guns…you are justifying the legality of one law by compounding two different issues…one she is a minor and two she is illegally prostituting.

Bottom line is that prostitution, where it’s legal, is a victimless and safe line of work. Mind you, these are not underage girls involved…
