He accuses his investigators, Maj. Michael Bosse and Lt. Ron Compton, of false imprisonment, abuse of process and extortion. He is also suing the Urban County Government and Police Chief Anthany Beatty for alleged negligent supervision.

The lawsuit accuses Bosse and Compton of intimidating police officers to testify against Cromer, who was also being investigated for postings on his MySpace.com page.

Cromer alleges that Bosse and Compton pressured him to resign, warning him that he’d be liable for $30,000 in police training and salary reimbursement if he were fired. The lawsuit alleges that Bosse and Compton pressured other officers to cooperate in the investigation.

He says the investigators interrogated him Sept. 25, 2006, without the 48 hours’ written notice required by the Police Officer Bill of Rights. Bosse and Compton locked him in a room and questioned him without reading him his rights or warning that they were considering criminal charges, Cromer says.

The article also says that Cromer wants his job back. I’m sure suing will make him a lot of friends on the force.

It’s amazing how long this has gone on. His life probably would have gone a lot smoother if he had just taken responsibility for his actions.
