Gangs of Nashua
With MySpace, Facebook, gangland moving online:
Another article about gangs using MySpace and Facebook to not only recruit members but to boast about their crimes online.
A teen purporting to be a 17-year-old Nashua boy created a group on MySpace using the name of a local gang in the French Hill area of the city, “LDP,” and posting images including gang signs and insignia. The group has 247 members, including many purporting to be from other states and many whose profiles include gang insignia.
Two other Nashua teens, one of whom is photographed behind the Elm Street Middle School, created groups claiming affiliation with a specific, Chicago-based gang and nationwide sets that appear to be popular among youths in the Tree Streets area. Each groups has just over 30 members, and one has drawn unfavorable comment from a Texas youth.
The sites are as useful to police as they are to gang members, Savelli noted.
“There’s probably a thousand incidents where gang members have been caught taking credit for robberies and shootings,” he said. “It’s become a resource for investigators.”
If Nashua, New Hampshire has gangs then just about anyplace can.

What’s funny is this will just continue to happen, because it’s not like these gang members are keeping up on all the news. I bet one of them has a bright idea about putting up evidence of a crime right now…
