Narcotics, Guns, and Money

by Trench on November 7th, 2007

5 Expelled From Michigan High School for Gun Photos Posted on MySpace:
Five students from Belleville High School in Belleville, Michigan have been expelled for posting pictures of themselves on MySpace posing with guns, drugs, and money.

Van Buren Public Schools Superintendent Pete Lazaroff says the photos shown on the social networking Web site were taken after a limo picked the students up from a school dance. He says he thinks the students had weapons at the homecoming dance.

Lazaroff says the students bragged they were members of a gang. He says there are grounds for discipline whether the guns were real or fake.

I’m surprised they actually got expelled. It seems like you have to commit a capital offense these days before you can get expelled.

I hope the principal will stand by his discison to expell these students. To me they send a bad and scarry message to others. These students are acting like gangster wannabees, and shame on their no good parents who now only see dollar signs for their childrens bad behavior.

Yet another reason why people are afraid of the black culture. Not only do blacks allienate themselves from the rest of the American culture, but they promote racism without knowing it. People are waking up to the fact that young blacks are in trouble. Of course Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton say that “there is nothing wrong with our youth. All accusations are racially motivated.” Black youths need guidance and role models, not protection, understanding and acceptance for their delinquent behaviors. Our public schools are a mess because of the ghetto culture. All of the good kids are starting to go to private schools now. I feel sorry for the the few black youth that are good kids and have to put up with this. They are fighting a daily battle to be good or “act white” as the pseudo-ghetto kids say.

first, i think the students should have some consequences for their pics. but by their parents. its none of the school business what goes on on the internet. and jim brothers is a prick. any child that grows up in proverty feels a little alienated. it wasnt black kids who cut off that young mans head the other day either. i have some college education and i attended and graduated from cass tech high school. none of my friends thought i was trying to be white. im trying to survive which alot of these kids have to worry about. white black asian purple green. i dont see u as a big brother for these urban youths either. 26yr. old black woman!

Taking an analytical approach to this issue would be the best start. Is technology a ubiquitous form of social networking? I think it is. Social interaction among youths has changed rapidly in the last five years and MySpace, with other social networking tools, facilitates and creates an environment that bridges physical boundaries such as home and school.

We have to look at the pictures posted and the “guns allegedly brought to the homecoming” as evidence of this new intangible “space.”

MySpace, Facebook, etc. are places of vulnerability and projections of human thought and interaction.

We must take precautions to protect our students and children.

What precautions? Well, “Come let us reason together.”

I have children in this school district. There is a code of conduct that each student has to sign at the beginning of the school year, so there should have been no supprise at any consequenses for their actions. It is all written in black and white.

I am more concerned about parents that feel this is acceptable behavior. I am beginning to think that these students should be removed from their homes for their own safety and well-being. Thier present environment is obviously a detriment to them.

I THINK THESE KIDS MADE A BIG MISTAKE. I THINK IF THE CHILDREN LIVED IN DETROIT (25 MILES AWAY) WE WOULD HAVE NEVER HEARD ABOUT THIS STORY. WHEN PARENTS MOVE THERE YOUNG BLACK SONS TO SUBURBAN TOWNS THEY NEED TO BE WARNED THAT THEY ARE BEING WATCHED AT ALL TIMES.
A LOT OF THINGS WE DO IN THE HOOD, WONT FLY IN THE BURBS. THEY MADE A MISTAKE THAT THEY WILL PAY FOR. THE ONLY THING THEY CAN DO IS MAN UP AND ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS. YOU CAN’T BE A GANGSTER AND RUN TO MOMMA AND DADDY WHEN THE HEAT GETS ON YOU.
THIS IS ALL A RESULT OF BAD PARENTING.

my childs goes to belleville highschool , these parents who would even think those boys are innocent ,,, and this is for music ?when they try and harm our innocent , what then?
they signed the same agreement of conduct in this school , all our children as well as us parents,
im not going to sit here and take a chance my child could be intimiated , caused bodly harm , god for bid death , because of ignorence , what will they say to us if harm comes to our children , SORRY, well sorry isnt good enough , your kids are ,,,,
The parents of these kids , to you i say ,, you want them in gangs and have guns , i hope you get punished to,,,, and we as parents , that HAVE to be responsible for our children ,, have the right to send our children to a safe envirment , If something does happen , I hope you parents are as RESPONSIBLE ,, as your child who chooses to participate in gangs drugs and guns , its clear from pictures and sources of information , that your children are doing the things they have been accused of , us parents of the innocent children going to belleville highschool are not going to live in fear of your ignorence , the policy is in place for us all , you may think your kids are special , thay can do what they want , but if one hair on my childs head gets hurt it will be you parents i would go after , as well as your little gangsters, we have rights to ,
