Belleville students re-expelled
4th student in MySpace case re-expelled:
The last if the Belleville High students from Michigan has been re-expelled following another public hearing. To refresh your memories the 4 black students were expelled from Belleville after they were found posing on MySpace with what appeared to be guns, drugs, and money. Why am I bringing up their color? Because everyone else is. The parents of the students are playing the race card.
Alma Young, grandmother of Anthony Allen, one of the banned students, said race is an issue. “If these had been four or five little white kids, it never would have come to this,” she said.
Young said her grandson is not a gang member. “I’d put my life on it,” she said.
I could probably cite aboust a dozen or so white kids that were either arrested or disciplined by the school that have appeared on this very site.
A local Reverend put it best in my opinion…
“Clearly the race card was used. I was offended at that. I wanted to see something done without the race card,” said the Rev. Tim McCoy, pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Belleville
McCoy, who is white and said he has a Southern background, asked the black parents and students to picture him posed with guns, ammunition and a Confederate flag. “Would you feel intimidated?” McCoy asked the families.
McCoy also said he’d welcome the families to his church. “It’s a mixed church, kind of like heaven,” he said.
Amen Rev. McCoy.

Yes, because 5 white kids with guns, drugs, and money are LOADS less terrifying.
What color where those kids that did the Columbine shooting? Oh wait WHITE!
Yes, white kids are definitely less terrifying than black kids. This is totally about race.
(In case no one got that, I am being sarcastic)

I hate the fact that the race card was played in this whole case. There are so many kids, teachers, and adults with pictures on their Myspace accounts that have caused them problems–not because of RACE but because of what was pictured.
I’m just glad nobody allowed this commentary to be a cop-out to exceptionally bad judgment.

Its a black thang, you wouldn’t understand. Just like no one understands that you have to feed live bunnies to your Pit Bull.

“the race card.” What a curious term. No one plays the race card, the race card is played for them by the white majority. That doesn’t mean that white kids wouldn’t have also been expelled, but race has to do with everything in this country. Just look at the previous comments, are we to believe that all black people say “thang” and feed rabbits to their pit-bulls. I highly doubt that white students would not be allowed to return to school, and to those who believe that this was not an issue of race, perhaps the daily doses of racial injustice that we all percieve every day, has dilluted your recognition of common-place racism and led you to believe that we live in a color blind society… But I’m sorry to inform you that this is simply not the case.

As a student of Belleville High School, I would say the issue and punishment with the 5 students, was a bit extreme. There are students who have a Myspace page, w/ some of the same objects that were seen in the picture which got these students expelled. I know the 5 students, and they were NOTHING like what their pictures revealed. To me, it was just a stupid image they “thought” was cool and intimidating. Furthermore, Belleville High School to me isn’t even a well- around safe place to attend, I walk in there everyday seeing groups [clicks] of kids, looking the opposite group up and down [mugging] with a look of hate. Its ridiculous. Why can’t kids just go to school for their education? Because, little do they know the clothes, shoes, and overall look of one another, doesn’t determine whether you’ll get accepted in Harvard or not. =]

Precious, you seem like a great kid. Hang in there and stay smart. Once you get out your real life will begin.

As an african-american i feel that the race card shouldnt have been used in this whole situation. The bottom line is they had guns in a limo. The rules inside the handbook states that who ever brings a weapon on school property will be suspended. Everyone who goes to belleville including me knows this rule. The only reason they suide was because there wasnt a high school that would except them and that there is no way for them to get into a college with that on there record thus being screwd for the rest of there lives.if your going to call the administration rasict then you have a serious case of BITCHASSNESS
