Smokin’ baby
MySpace video of child smoking lands woman in jail:
I’ve always said that MySpace was the trailer park of the internet and it seems that I wasn’t far off. 33-year-old Sandra Venery of Virginia Beach, Va. was arrested after she posted a video on MySpace of a two-year-old trying to smoke a cigarette.
Police said that the video also showed the child using profanity at the prompting of an adult female family member. The depiction of smoking and use of profanity apparently was modeled after a popular comedy skit the suspect had seen on television.
I guess I’m not watching the ‘right’ shows. Does anybody know what show they’re talking about? Not that it matters, the kid will probably be smoking filterless Luckies by the time he’s 13 anyway unless he gets out of that environment.

They were talking about the Pearl video on Funny or die with Will Ferrell. Note that the 2 year old did not actually smoke, and they put the woman in jail without bond.

did you read that New England Journal of Medicine article that said 2 minutes of cigarette smoke created irreperable harm. The parent was clearly wrong, but jail– come on.

some people shouldn’t reproduce, most people are looking at this as a very bad parenting,i agree, she shouldn’t be in jail but should be watched closely, how would you feel if next week you read in the paper that this same child had serious burns from playing with a lighter.grow up people.this is no joke!

I think she should have to pay fines and such. But come on, even jail is horrid. But if the child continued to be injured or prompted to smoke then social services should step in and take the child.
