Quantum Leap
It’s theme time again here at b5media’s Lifestyles Channel and this time the theme is called Quantum leap. The concept is to blog about something that happened 4 years ago and prognosticate what you think will happen 4 years from now.
4 years is a lifetime on the internet. Back in 2004 the big social networking sites were Xanga and LiveJournal. They weren’t even called social networking sites back then and were decidedly Web 1.0. They were just considered blogging sites and only now are they considered social networking sites because they both have the options of a friend list. Crimes on these sites were barely heard of outside of a few kids who threatened to attack their schools. Now only a few diehards still use Xanga and LiveJournal is basically only used by emo kids and fan fiction writing weirdos.
4 years from now I can only imagine what the hot new web trend will be and we’ll probably be up to at least Web 3.0 at that time. However I thing with the faddish nature of the internet MySpace and Facebook will only be shells of their former selfs. With that this site will probably have changed its name to reflect whatever crimes are being committed with the new fad site. That is if blogging is still even around at all.
